Surprise! Surprise! Edging past veterans and box-office queens, Band Bajaa Baaraat girl ANUSHKA SHARMA wins the Best Actress crown in this year’s t2 Screen Awards. The model-turned-actress had debuted opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi but it was her peppy romance with debutant Ranveer Singh that won her the wows and the votes. Anushka will next be seen opposite SRK in Yash Chopra’s next!

You would have expected her to win gold, but KATRINA KAIF finds herself at number two in our reader poll. While Anushka has won 25% votes, Kats gets around 19% for her two roles this year — the alluring Laila in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and the boisterous Dimple in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Will her Yash Chopra romance with Shah Rukh win it for her next year?

Winner of last year’s Best Actress (for Ishqiya), VIDYA BALAN wins bronze this year for her role as Sabrina Lal in Rajkumar Gupta’s hard-hitting No One Killed Jessica. Expect her to climb up the charts again next year for being Silk Smitha in Milan Luthria’s The Dirty Picture.

The other No One Killed Jessica lady, RANI MUKERJI, wins just one vote less than Vidya Balan to claim fourth spot on this hot-hot-hot Best Actress list. It was a comeback of sorts for the actress and now she will be seen in Reema Kagti’s film opposite Aamir Khan.

The film failed on all counts but obviously there were a few out there who really liked PRIYANKA CHOPRA as 7 Khoon Maaf’s Susanna. Next year Piggychops will have more than a couple of shots at the top slot with Don 2 and Agneepath raring to release.
