‘What’s wrong if I want to go out for coffee with Shahid?’

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Badmaash Company...That’s two films completed from your three-film contract with Yash Raj Films.
What contract? I’m tired of correcting this misconception. I only have a three-film agreement with Yash Raj and it is not even down on paper. The media has blown it out of all proportion by insisting that I’m not allowed to sign films with an outside banner. I thought that rumour would stop after I took on Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House. But the question still crops up.
But you are doing another film with Yash Raj?
If a good script comes up and Adi (Aditya Chopra) feels I’m right for the part, sure there’ll be a third film with YRF.

Badmaash Company review - Filmfare

Bottom line for Badmaash Company - go watch it. Your money’s worth guaranteed. It’s fun, zippy and racy and only occasionally takes itself too seriously. That much we can forgive, given the love we Indians harbour for a ‘moral of the story’ sorta thing. Crime never pays, sure we all know that. But then films like Ocean’s Eleven (Twelve and Thirteen) and directors like Guy Ritchie and Steven Soderbergh have shown us that crime and con can be a cool thing as long as you are not ripping out people’s innards or leaving them to die on a highway with a slit throat. Conning people is amusing for the people who do it and if it’s a film then for the people who get to watch them do it.

The first impression you get when you see Anushka Sharma is endless legs. The leggy babe charmed the nation as the dance-crazy Tanni in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and now, she's gearing up to show her naughty side in Badmaash Company, where she plays a simple-girl-turned-con-artist opposite hottie Shahid Kapoor. Then there's Patiala House with the hunky Akshay Kumar. Cosmo caught up with this phenomenal mix of sexiness and talent to see what makes her tick.

"I can be casual with Shahid"

Anushka Sharma hasn't changed a bit during last one and a half years. I remember having my first conversation with her a weekend after the release of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She was unpretentious, sounded like a confident young beautiful girl next door, had a casual tone to her voice and despite having worked with Shah Rukh Khan and delivered a blockbuster-in-the-making, Anushka appeared totally approachable and rather cool about all the attention she was garnering. Few months down the line, she is all set with Badmaash Company. The adjectives surrounding her haven't changed at all till date and what one gets to see is what Anushka truly is. In a really 'speedy conversation' with Joginder Tuteja (yes, Anushka admits that she speaks fasts and assures that the interview will be completed on time despite her choc-b-bloc schedule), the 'badmaash girl' talks about her latest outing.

"We don’t kiss on screen for the heck of it."

After playing a simple girl-next-door, Anushka Sharma has gone in for an image makeover in ‘Badmaash Company’ where she not only wears stylish clothes but also has a kissing scene with Shahid Kapoor. The model-turned-actress says the script demanded it and it wasn’t meant just to attract attention.
‘I don’t see it as a kissing scene. It’s a part of the screenplay. I think cinema is changing and we are not doing (kissing) for the heck of it. We do not need to do this (kiss on screen) to attract attention,’ Anushka told IANS in an interview.
‘When you see the film, the kind of chemistry Bulbul (her character in the film) and Karan (Shahid) share, the kind of love that’s there between them, you will be able to understand that the scene was justified,’ said Anushka, who made her debut as a small town girl in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Anushka Sharma has been shooting with Akshay Kumar for Patiala House. And it looks like she is completely taken in by Akshay's professionalism.
"I have heard so many actresses talk about Akshay being their favourite co- star and I used to wonder what makes him so good. But now that I have worked with him, I understand what they meant," she says.
"He is a complete professional. He comes on time, gets ready and is so good with his work! Also, he is very helpful and gentle to people around," Anushka adds.

I've been conning my parents: Anushka

After having wooed several hearts as Taani ji in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Anushka Sharma is super excited about her latest, Badmaash Company.
Tell us something about the script and your character in the film?
I was completely bowled over by the script. Also I was not told who had written it. So I was completely unaware, I was just given a script and told to read it. In fact, I had to read it on my way to London where I was going to for a few days. Once I started reading it and I couldn't stop till I finished. I loved it so much. I immediately called up Adi and told him I was doing the film. As for my character, Bulbul is unapologetic, by the way she speaks, by the way she dresses and by the way she behaves with everyone around her. She is aggressive because she is independent, she is straightforward. I think it’s great because she is not pretentious and calls a spade a spade. She is living alone in Mumbai aspiring to be a model. Any girl living alone who is taking care of herself would be able to relate to Bulbul. You need to be a bit of a man to live alone, and Bulbul is that.
