It took Fanaa to bring Aamir Khan back to working with Yash Raj after he had worked with the patriarch Yash Chopra in the long forgotten Parampara. But the parampara continues with Aamir’s nephew Imran making his way into the Yash Raj banner. The film in question is likely to be directed by Chak De director Shimit Amin. But since he’s busy with his own film might make way for a debuntante assistant director who has been associated with the company for a long time.

'I can be fun,' says Anushka

You would have thought, after a debut like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan himself, the tall and strikingly attractive Anushka Sharma’s Anushka Sharma life would have changed 360 degrees.
Not really. That’s because she was determined from the start not to let her Bollywood status go to the head. “This isn’t the real thing, you know,” she said, after making sure BT had got her name (“everybody spells it wrong”) right! “I am a more grounded person today. Everyone appreciated my performance in Rab Ne..., but I am striving harder already.”
There is much similarity between her and Deepika Padukone. Both girls are far too tall for Bollywood’s leading pack of actors (well, the Khans actually, give or take an Akshay, Hrithik, John and Abhishek), and both have ramp model-to-silver screen backgrounds, not to mention debuts opposite SRK. “I don’t compete keeping someone else in sight,” said Anuskha who is getting ready for her next film (opposite Shahid Kapoor, this time). “I give my best shot and leave the rest to God. I meditate and have a connection to my spiritual side. That has an extremely calming effect on me.”

2008 has been a lucky year for actress Anushka Sharma. Not only did she make her Bollywood debut with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, her first film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi turned out to be a blockbuster.
She believes that “No one does a film keeping awards in mind, but these definitely work as an energizer for any actor.”
Anushka says, “ Rab Ne .. has done very well at the box office and I’m looking forward to more such challenging roles. I feel fortunate that I did my first film with Shah Rukh and Adi. It’s a matter of great satisfaction that my role was praised. I am already feeling rewarded for my role and the film’s performance.”

We all know of the ZOOM association as media partners with Yashraj Films and their big hit, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. In fact, Bollywood’s favourite TV channel has been associated all through with the movie, from doing contests, to being media partners, to airing exclusive songs, etc, etc.
As part of the same association there has been a lucky coupon on all the movie’s DVDs with which movie buffs could win a gamut of prizes — from more music, DVDs, VCDs, the stars’ costumes to even SRK’s yellow car in the movie.

A Jhalak of Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fame can't wait to show off her dance skills in this weekend's episode of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. Rajul Hegde caught up with the pretty actress during her rehearsal at Jhalak house to know what she's been up to, and whether she's signed any new films.
How does it feel to be on Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa?
It feels very good. And this is a great platform to launch the Rab Ne DVD. It is a very popular show and a big platform for us.
Do you really need to rehearse for Haule Haule, the song you'll be dancing on, on the show?
If you notice, it's Surendar Suri (Shah Rukh Khan) who dances to Hole hole in the film, not me. I performed on Dance pe. I'm dancing to a remix version of Hole Hole. Hard Kaur has rapped very nicely to it.
